It becomes highly dangerous with all those women in the air! And in addition to that Sylvia Spruck Wrigleywrites she has achieved her license! Do we have to be happy with that?! I think yes! It is –also- because this female pilot can write very originally. Ms Spruck Wrigleycomes with a short ‘story’ in which she describes in a sarcastically and comic way how she got her Private Pilot License (PPL). Sylvia Spruck Wrigley is actually -she says- a little afraid of flying (her website is called http://www.fearoflanding.com ) and has a love and hate- relationship with flying. An ex-RAF flying instructor once told her: ’You do not need a real license, you as a wife’s license. Forget the technical mumbo-jumbo. I’ll show you the radio and we’ll go up - you can just play with the flight controls.‘ And so? And from that moment on she wanted the men’s world to know that she was able to get her PPL license. Encouraged by her husband, she takes lessons from the Spanish airport Axarquia. From then on she describes in a humorous way what she experiences and how she slowly makes steps towards her certification.
The story is a must for anyone (and especially if you are female!) who is thinking of having a PPL- license! … after reading you won’t want anything else! In addition, I give her an originality price for this story that is something completely new to the aviation- books- firmament.
Levensgevaarlijk al die vrouwen in de lucht! En dan schrijft Sylvia Spruck Wrigley dat ze ook haar brevet gehaald heeft! Of we daar nu blij mee moeten zijn?! Ik denk van wel! Het is nu namelijk een keer een vrouwelijke piloot die goed kan schrijven en ook nog eens erg origineel is. Sylvia Spruck Wrigley komt met een kort ‘verhaal’ waarin ze op komische en sarcastische wijze het behalen vaar vliegbrevet beschrijft. Het korte verhaal is niet eens een boek te noemen maar dat maakt ook niet uit verder.
